PROFILE OF ISMAILA ADEREMI BELLO (ALHAJI)

Alhaji Ismaila Aderemi Bello was born in Ibadan, Oyo State on the 16th September, 1957 to a prominent yet very humble Ibadan Family

Alhaji Bello started his primary education in the ubiquitous Ibadan City Council Primary School which was then I.C.C. (Ibadan City Council) Ibuko, Molete from 1964-1970.  His primary education was made more rounded by his undergoing at the same time Koranic and Arabic Education.

After his primary education he attended the popular Ibadan City Academy from 1973 to 1977.  Alhaji Bello despite his very good performance at WASCE had to go the way of all indigent students after his School Certificate, he took up a Clerical appointment with Adelad Construction/ Harboni Limited preparatory for his admission to the Polytechnic Ibadan to study Accountancy.

At the Polytechnic Ibadan, hardworking, intrepid Alhaji ensured he was able to go through his academic activities by retaining his job on part time basis.  He joined Ferodo Nigeria Limited after his OND.  Thirty (30) months after obtaining the OND in Accounting Alh. Bello passed the ACA and became a Chartered Accountant.  This rare fit, still very tough to achieve today marked a turning point in his life.  A floodgate of opportunities thereafter opened to him

Never fazed by hard work Alhaji had in between his climb of the corporate ladder found time to obtain a B.Sc Degree in Accounting from the Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago Iwoye, Ogun State and an M.Sc Degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos.

Armed with his ACA he was promoted to the position of Management Accountant before he had to move on in 1989.

Alh. Bello’s penchant for hard work and perspicacity saw him taking the beckoned opportunity from CRITTALL-HOPE Nigeria Limited as Company Accountant in January 1990.  He became Chief Accountant and Company Secretary of the Company in 1992.  His excellent performance was rewarded with his promotion to General Manager, Kaduna Factory of the Company in 1997.  He became the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company in 1999.  He has been on the board of the company for over fifteen years.

Alhaji Bello wears the toga of an accomplished self-made man with pride.  He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, An Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.  He is an Alumnus of Lagos Business School (CEP10), a Council Member and Chairman - 2007 President’s Day of the Nigerian British Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vice President and Chairman - Trade Promotion Board (the organizers of annual Lagos International Trade Fair) of Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry.  He is also a member of Institute of Directors.

Alhaji Bello is happily married. 

Alhaji Ismaila Aderemi Bello is a devout Muslim. 

It is not all work with Alhaji Bello; he is a Table Tennis buff.  He is a foundation member of Jericho Businessmen Club, Ikoyi Club 1938, and Lagos Country Club.

Absolutely committed to helping the needy, Alhaji Bello is a Past President of Rotary Club of Ikeja South and also a Past District Treasurer of Rotary International District 9110 Nigeria.
